Hioki is pleased to announce the launch of the Battery Tester BT3554. Battery testers are used to diagnose battery degradation. In addition to its ability to make accurate measurements without being affected by noise, the BT3554 features functionality for preventing erroneous measurements caused by poor measurement probe contact.
BT3554 APPLICATIONS Maintenance inspections of equipment such as uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) in buildings and manufacturing plants
BT3554 FEATURES 1. Improved noise resistance and measurement stability When diagnosing degradation of batteries that are used to provide drive power in an environment in which a UPS or similar equipment is operating, it is necessary to consider the effects of noise, which obscures measured values and degrades measurement stability. Hioki developed proprietary noise reduction technology that enables measurement without the effects of noise and incorporated it into the BT3554. This technology enables stable measurement even when a UPS is operating, making it possible to reliably diagnose battery degradation in such environments.
2. Functionality for preventing erroneous measurement due to poor probe contact When measuring degradation of a battery, it is necessary to establish reliable contact between the tips of the measurement probes and the battery’s electrodes. Proprietary Hioki functionality built into the BT3554 prevents erroneous measurements caused by poor measurement probe contact, resulting in improved measurement reliability.
3. Availability of a Bluetooth®-equipped model and inclusion of computer application software Hioki is also making available the BT3554-01, a Bluetooth®-equipped model (Bluetooth® Smart) that can be paired with smartphones.
The BT3554 also ships with application software that allows data stored in the instrument’s internal memory to be managed on a computer. This software allows data to be viewed in tabular form, and it makes it easy to create graphs and reports. In addition, data can be saved in the CSV format.
